Waiting on God – The Blessed Way
A wise Christian woman I respect once told me, “Obeying God is not the easy way, but it is the blessed way.” Part of obeying God is being willing to wait on Him. Most of us Christians know from experience that this is not always an easy thing to do.
Trusting God
This morning I was reading Christian Daily Blog and found a guest post by Heather Phillips entitled, “God Does Know Best.” The author discusses how God does not grant all of our requests, or sometimes says “wait,” because He knows what is ultimately good for us. However, we sometimes get in a hurry and try to take control of situations in our lives, making decisions with long-terms effects that only result in regret.
Results of “helping” God
I know what it is like to desperately want something so much that I have tried to manipulate God into giving me what I wanted right then. Of course, that is foolish. When I try to “help God out” then I delay or miss out on better blessings He wants to give me, and I also cause heartache and pain to myself and others. The old saying, “Good things come to those who wait” is true (as long as it is God we are waiting on).
Letting God bless us in His way and on His timetable
God wants to bless His kids, and He will do so in His time and in the ways He knows are best. Our job is to be content and remain peaceful while we are waiting on Him to act and then to accept His answers readily -even when they are not the answers we wanted.
How to have no regrets
God wants us to talk with Him and make requests, but He wants us to stay surrendered to His will, obey Him, and not rush ahead with our agenda. If we yield to God we will be blessed, and it will always be worth the wait.
